FAQ
1.1 What type of floors can DEEBOT SLIM clean?
DEEBOT SLIM is capable of cleaning nearly all types of bare floors. DEEBOT SLIM is not suitable for use on carpet.
1.2 Can DEEBOT SLIM really clean under my furniture?
Yes. DEEBOT SLIM’s low profile design gives it the ability to clean under furniture with a 6 cm/2.4” clearance without complications.
1.3 What does DEEBOT SLIM do if it meets obstacles, like furniture?
DEEBOT SLIM has an active obstacle detection system to help it avoid contact with your furniture, walls and household items. 9 groups of Anti-Collision Sensors are on-board the robot. When the sensors detect an obstacle, a signal will be sent to DEEBOT SLIM’s “brain” to slow down, change direction and select a new cleaning path. If the object is very low to the ground - 1.5” or smaller in height - DEEBOT may gently touch the obstacle with its mechanical cushion bumper before turning around.
1.4 Can DEEBOT SLIM move over the doorsills in my house?
Yes. DEEBOT SLIM can move over doorsills as high as 1.0 cm/0.4” (0.75cm/0.3” with the Cleaning Cloth attached).
1.5 DEEBOT SLIM is not cleaning along edges and in corners thoroughly. What should I do?
Please choose Edge Cleaning Mode to clean along edges and in corners effectively.
1.6 Where should I place the Charging Dock so DEEBOT SLIM can easily find it?
The Charging Dock should be plugged in and placed on a level floor against the wall. Keep the immediate area 1.5m/5’ in front of the charger and 0.5m/1.6’ on both sides of the Charging Dock clear of objects.
1.7 Is it dangerous to touch DEEBOT SLIM’s Charging Contacts or the Charging Pins on the Charging Dock?
No. The maximum DC voltage outputs of the DEEBOT SLIM and the Charging Dock are within the safe range for the human body.
2.1 Why does DEEBOT SLIM spill dust when I move the robot manually?
If dust is spilling when you move DEEBOT SLIM by hand, the Dust Bin is probably too full. The Dust Bin should be emptied regularly for best cleaning performance. When moving DEEBOT SLIM manually, please lift the robot with both hands and keep the end marked with “DEEBOT” tilted slightly up to avoid spillage.
2.2 What happens if DEEBOT SLIM detects a problem during cleaning?
If DEEBOT SLIM detects a problem, it emits 1-7 alarm beeps and the AUTO Mode Button flashes RED. The problem can be identified by the number of beeps emitted. Please see section 3.5 in the DEEBOT SLIM Instruction Manual for alarm identification and solution.
2.3 Can DEEBOT SLIM be used to vacuum up water?
No. Do not allow DEEBOT SLIM to ingest liquid as it will damage the unit.
2.4 What should be done if DEEBOT SLIM accidentally vacuums up liquid?
Turn DEEBOT SLIM OFF immediately. Remove the Dust Bin and Filters and allow them to dry completely before reinstalling. If the robot does not function normally after taking these steps, please contact Customer Service.
2.5 DEEBOT SLIM will not charge. What should I do?
1. Make sure the robot’s Bottom Power Switch is ON.
2. Make sure the Charging Dock is plugged in and the robot’s Charging Contacts have made a connection with the Charging Dock Pins on the Charging Dock.
3. If the robot’s battery is fully discharged or has not used for a long time, its capacity may have decreased and need to be reactivated. To reactivate the battery: Place the robot on the Charging Dock by hand, then remove after charging for 3 minutes; repeat 3 times, then charge normally for 3-5 hours. If the problem persists, please contact Customer Service.
2.6 DEEBOT SLIM did not clean automatically at the scheduled time. What should I do?
1. Ensure the robot’s Bottom Power Switch is ON.
2. Ensure the robot is charged.
3. Intelligent Scheduling may not have been set properly, or was cancelled. Reset Intelligent Scheduling.
2.7 Why does DEEBOT SLIM move around in circles and backwards after starting up?
1. The Anti-Drop Sensors on the bottom of DEEBOT SLIM may be covered with dust. Wipe the Anti-Drop Sensors with a dry cloth to maintain their effectiveness.
2. The Driving Wheels may be tangled with hair or debris. Remove hair/debris from the Driving Wheels.
3. The mechanical bumper rail may be stuck. Press each side of the mechanical bumper rail to see if it rebounds automatically.
If the problem persists, please contact Customer Service.
2.8 DEEBOT SLIM is cleaning with a louder noise and/or lower suction than normal. What should I do?
The Dust Bin may be full, the suction intake may be blocked, or the Side Brushes may be tangled with dirt and debris. Regular maintenance is important to maintain peak cleaning performance.
1. Turn OFF the robot’s Bottom Power Switch.
2. Remove and empty the Dust Bin, then reinstall.
3. Turn the robot over. Remove the Side Brushes. Wipe the Side Brushes and their slots with a dry cloth and reinstall.
4. Check the suction inlet for blockage. Remove debris from the suction inlet.
5. Power ON and restart.
1.16 DEEBOT SLIM cleans for a short period of time and then returns to the Charging Dock. What is wrong?
1. Working time varies according to floor surface, room complexity and the selected Cleaning Mode.
2. If the robot’s battery is fully discharged or has not been used for a long time, its capacity may have decreased and need to be reactivated. To reactivate the battery: Place the robot on the Charging Dock by hand, remove after charging for 3 minutes; repeat 3 times, then charge normally for 3-5 hours.
3. DEEBOT SLIM uses a long-life battery and does not require frequent replacement. However, cleaning time is shortened when the battery reaches the end of its service life. Replace the battery.
If the problem persists, please contact Customer Service.
1.17 Why aren't the Side Brushes rotating when DEEBOT SLIM is cleaning?
1. When the battery is low, the Side Brushes stop rotating and DEEBOT SLIM automatically returns to the Charging Dock to recharge itself. This is normal.
2. The Side Brushes may be tangled with debris. Power OFF the robot. Remove the Side Brushes. Wipe the Side Brushes and their slots with a dry cloth and reinstall.
3. The Side Brushes may not be installed properly. Power OFF the robot. Remove and reinstall the Side Brushes.
4. The Side Brushes have reached the end of their service life. Replace the Side Brushes.
If the problem persists, please contact Customer Service.
