Works better than Roomba.
Self Emptying base works well. Two evacuation holes assist clearing the bin out completely. Had for about 2 weeks now and highly impressed.

The robot is very intelligent in terms of cleaning route choice and object recognition. The app is also designed well with a visual map that tells you the cleaning map of the robot. You know exactly where it went. 1 star off for the mopping function: it can not remove foot prints so not very powerful on mopping. I still need to mop myself.

LOUD - and POWERFUL
First of all, whoever wrote and designed the US documentation, kudos to you! The instructions to convert my Deebot were intuitive and easy to follow. Very well written. The unit was well packaged, and assembly was a breeze. They even include a little key to unlock and remove the caps on your existing unit. I'm a little disappointed that they are going the disposable bag route, vs a bin you can empty yourself like the Shark-IQ, but it is nice for HEPA filter/allergen requirements. You can see underneath it if there is a clog or something, and they even included a screwdriver to put everything together.
This thing is LOUD and powerful muahahaha! It'll scare the stuffings out of your family, friends, spouse/partner, pets, kids, and environment. It thoroughly cleans out most of the bin, and even pulls dust out of some of the harder to reach areas. It spins the brush while it is emptying for 20 seconds, and this helps some with hair, but you WILL need to pull hair out of this thing every few days to weeks depending on your environment. The Shark IQ has a self-cleaning hair brush, and Deebot makes other products that self-clean the brush roll as well.
This thing needs A TON of room on both sides if you want the robot to be able to reliably return to the station. We have ours in a tiny laundry room, and it manages, but sometimes it gets GOOFY since it doesn't have enough room on each side.
For houses with a lot of pets, you can customize the robot to empty more often between cleanings, this way things don’t get over-loaded while you’re on vacation.
If you DON'T read manuals...read this one single thing....DON'T SET THIS NEAR STAIRS OR YOU'LL BE SORRY lol!!!!

Love it! Very helpful for my allergies.
The system works well. After every cleaning it seems to be able to clear out 99% of the stuff in the robot's dust bin. I see some users having trouble with it clearing when the robot's dust bin is too full, but honestly just run the vacuum more often and you'll be fine.
I like how the system doesn't run the auto clean during Do Not Disturb hours.
I only take off 1 star because it's missing some functionality which would be a nice quality of life upgrade.
It would be nice to be able to tell the vacuum to manually start the extraction process from the app or Alexa. This is because if you run the vacuum at night like I do during the Do Not Disturb mode time slot, then the robot's bin still is full in the morning and only empties if you start and complete another cleaning run. If I could just wake up and tell it to self empty without doing a cleaning run, then that would be fantastic.
Only oddity I've found so far is when you tape over the cliff sensors the app will say that the bin is extracting from the dust bin but the base station doesn't actually initialize this. Maybe some odd bug but worth noting because I had covered up those senors to help with my high pile carpet navigation but seems not worth the trouble if the self cleaning doesn't work as a result so now I just self clean that area rug.
Also I think $250 is a bit much by itself. I got this included in my T8 purchase and I would say it's about $150 if I was to buy it on its own.

Not great with pet hair
We got this thinking we wouldn't have to empty the bin as much, but I find myself doing it every time. It simply will not suck up the car hair. It's a terrible design. Wasted $250. The vacuum itself is great!

How do you know which version you get? I live in Sweden and we have 230v.

Will it still function without a bag in place? e.g, if I run out of bags will the vacuum still auto empty into the bin which I could then manually dump into the trash once it’s full?

Any other T8 (3D) owners with an auto empty bin see the setting for emptying on return to base? I had a T8 AIVI and it had both the manual button and the setting for emptying on return to base. Just not seeing either with the T8 (3D).
Support told me that it is not available in the app for the T8 but is for the AIVI but didn't expand on it any further :/

Will the Deebot return to the base and empty the dust bin if full, and then return to finish the cleaning job or does it only empty the bin at the end of the cleaning job. Does anyone know what happens if the dust bin fills up before the job is done.
No. It cannot detect if the bin is full. This is because IRobot has a patent on sensing if the bin is full.

What happens if I have two charging bases on the same floor/map?
11. I have a CH1833/CH1822 charging station at home. Can the T8 distinguish between them?
(1) The T8 can recognize both CH1833/CH1822 charging stations and the auto-empty station. If you have both types installed in your home, it will choose to return to the auto-empty station over the other type.
(2) If you purchase an auto-empty station assembly, we recommend removing the CH1833/CH1822.
