DEEBOT Deep-Dive – Best Cleaning Hacks to Save Time

2020-10-26

As our lives get busier and busier, the first thing to fall off of our endless to-do lists is often cleaning. To help make our lives a little easier and more efficient, we’ve compiled a list of our best cleaning hacks to save time – so you can spend more time doing what you love...binge-watching Selling Sunset (or whatever Netflix series is currently piquing your interest).

How to Save Time while Cleaning

Simple, easy, shower cleaning hack

Tired of nasty scum built-up on your shower doors that takes far too much effort (and sweat!) to scrub off? Grab a daily shower clean and spray your shower doors after each shower to prevent any scum or mildew build up. Pro tip – leave the bottle in the shower so that you never forget to spray!

Steam your microwave for a more efficient clean

Using a small bowl, put a 1/3rd of a cup of water and some lemon in the microwave for 60 seconds to steam your microwave, which makes wiping off any spills or crumbs much easier. No scrubbing guaranteed and a perfect microwave cleaning hack!

Chat with Alexa

“Alexa, set the vacuum to run at 5p.m.” When you’re rushing out the door or your hands are full, save yourself some time by using cleaning devices equipped with smart-home capabilities like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to keep your hands free. There are substantial options on the market today such as vacuums or dishwashers that provide auto-assistant support.

Line your baking pans with aluminum foil

Before you put all your ingredients into the pan, line it with aluminum foil; that way you can just toss the foil once you’re done cooking and avoid  cleaning any oil or stubborn crumbs! Pro tip – during some downtime, measure and cut sheets of foil the size of your pans so that you can just grab and go as you bake...your future self with thank you later!

Garbage disposal hack
If your garbage disposal constantly smells like, well...garbage, then cut lemons into small pieces and place them into the disposal to get rid of any lingering smells, which will also save you time from having to do a deep-clean later on.

Always keep a garbage bag at the bottom of the trash can

Taking out the trash is already enough of a chore. To make it easier and save you some time, keep a few trash bags underneath the open trash bag so you can instantly replace the bag as soon as you take it out.

Line the shelves and drawers in your fridge and pantry

If things spill or get dirty, you’ll thank yourself when you can just remove the liner and throw it away instead of having to scrub your shelves and drawers.

Switch your AC on while you dust

To expedite your dusting, crank up your AC so that it can suck up fallen dust, which is then captured by the AC filter. It practically does the job for you, and your house will be cool!

A Bonus Tip
Okay, we know we’re a robotic vacuum cleaner company... BUT, we’d be remiss not to include a major tip on how to keep your floors clean with minimal effort, while saving tons of time! Here’s our tip - it really is life-changing:

Invest in a robot with dual mopping and vacuuming capabilities

Ditch the wet-jet and your clunky vacuum for an all-in-one mopping and vacuuming robot. Some robotic vacuum cleaners even have advanced technologies that detect and avoid objects on the floor (shoes, cords, toys, etc.) so you don’t have to pre-clean, making it both a hassle-free and hands-free experience restoring time to your day. Control your robot vacuum cleaner via an app and sit back and relax while your little Cinderella tidies up the house. Bonus – robotic vacuum cleaners are small enough to fit under couches, freeing up some major storage closet space!

On top of all of these hacks, our biggest piece of advice is to think ahead. The more proactive you are with cleaning small things, or setting a few minutes aside a day to tidy things up, the easier your life will be long-term when you don’t have to clean a house that looks like a frat party was just thrown at.
